G’Anne Thomas, Au.D.
Owner, Doctor of Audiology
Dr. G’Anne Thomas, a 30-year veteran in the field, has been serving Athens and the surrounding communities since 1988. She received her undergraduate degree in speech pathology and her graduate degree in audiology from the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama, near her hometown of Birmingham.
She received her doctorate in audiology from Arizona School of Health Sciences in Mesa in 2000. She worked in hospitals and with ear, nose, and throat physicians before opening her private practice in 2003. She is licensed by the state of Georgia in audiology and is a founding member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). She holds memberships in the Georgia Academy of Audiology (GAA) and the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA), and she is certified by the American Institute of Balance (AIB) and the Tinnitus Practitioners Association (TPA).
Dr. Thomas lives in Watkinsville with her husband and has two grown children; the youngest serves in the United States Air Force. Outside of audiology, her passions include travel, leaded and fused glass, and spending time with her three grandchildren.
Glen Johnson, M.Ed
Glen Johnson, a native of Tennessee, has made his home here in Georgia for the past 17 years, where he worked as the audiologist at the Toccoa Clinic in Toccoa, GA, before joining the Hearing and Balance Clinics in our Lavonia and Clarkesville locations.
Glen holds a master’s degree in audiology from East Tennessee University. He is a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoys boating in his free time as well as traveling. With over 40 years of experience working with the hearing-impaired population, we are pleased to have him as part of our team.
Kristyn Meade, M.Ed
Kristyn Meade is a clinical audiologist. She received her Bachelor of Education degree in communication sciences and disorders from the University of Georgia. She continued at UGA and earned a dual master’s degree in audiology and education of the hearing impaired.
Kristyn is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the Georgia Academy of Audiology. She has been a licensed audiologist in the state of Georgia for 26 years. Her career has been spent mostly in medical settings, both hospital and otolaryngology private practice. Kristyn has years of experience with hearing evaluations for all age groups, hearing aid evaluations and fittings, and tinnitus management.
Kristyn enjoys reading, home improvement projects, and spending time with family in her spare time. She lives in Bogart with her husband, Tom, and two children, Evan and Kate.
